   大众报业集团（大众日报社）是以中共山东省委机关报——大众日报为旗帜和核心、报刊种类齐全、宣传力量强大、经济实力雄厚、产业功能完备的社会主义现代化报业集团。大众报业集团（大众日报社）现拥有“十一报五刊一网站”，即大众日报、农村大众、齐鲁晚报、生活日报、鲁中晨报、半岛都市报、经济导报、城市信报、现代交通报、山东法制报、新晨报、青年记者、成长先锋、半岛新生活、山东人事、山东劳动保障和大众网。

    大众报业集团（大众日报社）的母报大众日报创刊于1939年1月1日，是我国报业史上连续出版时间最长的党报。她的成长受到党和国家三代领导人的亲切关怀：在创刊一周年前夕，毛泽东同志题词纪念；在创刊50周年之际，邓小平同志题词祝贺；1998年12月31日，江泽民同志为大众日报创刊60周年欣然题词——“永远与人民大众在一起”。。 

    近些年来，大众日报及系列子报刊在坚持正确舆论导向、深化新闻改革、提高舆论影响力方面，进行了一系列探索创新，取得了良好效果。集团坚持“围绕主业办产业，办好产业为主业”的基本思路，发展报业经济，扩大规模，调整结构，强化管理，初步培育起以报纸为依托的广告、发行、印刷、信息、物资、酒店等产业，经济实力不断增强，现总资产15亿元，年利税过亿元。集团不断深化人事制分配制度改革，提高队伍素质，在用人机制、分配激励机制改革，学习体系建设和组织文化建设等方面，都取得了突破性进展。

    大众报业集团自2001年开始实行“两分开”体制改革，报刊不搞“小而全”，把原先依附于各报刊的经营业务、经营部门和经营人员分离出来进行整合，先后成立了广告、发行、印务、信息等子公司。在集团范围内实现新闻宣传和报业经营“两分开”，力求使集团的管理体制和运行机制真正发生“化学变化”。现在改革已取得阶段性成果。“两分开”体制改革的深化将进一步健全集团党委领导与法人治理结构相结合的领导体制，宣传业务与经营业务相对独立的组织结构，适应市场需求、调控有力的经营管理模式。

    2003年6月，大众报业集团被中央确定为全国文化体制改革试点单位，目前正在按照中央和省委部署积极稳妥地推进改革。

Brief Introduction of Dazhong News Group

With CPC Shandong Provincial Committee\'s official publication Dazhong Daily as the flag and the core, Dazhong News Group is a modernized socialist newspaper industry group with a whole array of newspapers and periodicals, strong publicity power, ample economic strength, and complete industry functions.

At present Dazhong News Group owns eleven newspapers, five periodicals, and a website. They are Dazhong Daily, Rural Dazhong Daily, Qilu Evening News, Life Daily, Mid-Shandong Morning News, Peninsula Metropolitan News, Economic Herald, City Sun, Modern Transportation News, Shandong Legal News, New Morning Post, Youth Journalist, Growing Pioneer, Peninsula New Life, Shandong Human Affairs, Shandong Labor Protection, and Dazhong Website.

Started its publication on Jan 1, 1939, Dazhong Daily is the party organ with the longest successive publication period in China\'s newspaper history. Her growth received warm solicitudes from three generations of CPC and national leaders. On the eve of first anniversary, Comrade Mao Zedong wrote words of encouragement; on the 50th anniversary, Comrade Deng Xiaoping congratulated with his inscription; on December 31, 1998, Comrade Jiang Zeming agreeably wrote \"staying with people at the grass roots forever\" for the 60th anniversary of Dazhong Daily.

In recent years, Dazhong News Group conducts series researches and innovations and gets good results on holding right public opinion guiding, deepening journalism reform, and raising public opinion influence. Insisting on the fundamental thinking of \"developing sideline industry of main industry and for main industry\", Dazhong News Group develops newspaper industry economy, enlarges scale of operation, readjusts framework of organization, strengthens management, cultivates industries of advertising, distribution, printing, information, goods and materials, hotels, etc. The economic strength of Dazhong News Group increases continuously. The total asset reaches 1.5 billion RMB Yuan and the annual profit and tax surpasses 100 million RMB Yuan. Through deepening reform on human affairs and distribution inspiration institution, as well as raising staff quality, Dazhong News Group makes breakthroughs not only on reform of human employment mechanism and distribution encouragement, but also on construction of learning system and organizational culture.

Dazhong News Group has been implementing institutional reform of \"double separation\". Both newspapers and periodicals give up systems of \"small and complete\". Operation departments and operation personnel attached to different newspapers and periodicals are separated from former media and converged into new-established sub-companies of advertising, printing, and information successively. Within the range of Dazhong News Group, news publicity and industry operation are separated from each other to achieve real \"chemistry changes\" of management system and operation institution. The reform has achieved initial outcome by now. The deepening of \"double separation\" structural reforms will strengthen the combination of group CPC committee leadership and legal person management, the comparatively independent organization structure of publicity and business, and the market-oriented management method with strong readjustment power.
